We are very proud of our latest publication from Eblana Press, A Place Where Ireland Is Invisible, by esteemed poet and Aos Dána member, James Harpur. This remarkable work features wood engravings by Paul Ó Colmáin. In this extraordinary collaboration, James Harpur's poetry and Paul Ó Colmáin’s artworks come together to create a book of wonders, offering a set of poems that imaginatively restore the lives of the Irish saints. These pages present a unique fusion of the human and divine, the natural and supernatural, converging into a realm that is distinctly Irish yet transcends boundaries – a place where Ireland is invisible.

The book comes with a cover slip and its pages are sewn in signatures, using the finest quality paper. Retail price: €25. But please add €10 postage and packing for orders in Ireland, and €20 for orders outside Ireland. In A Place Where Ireland Is Invisible, James Harpur’s poetry has produced ‘a rich and fresh harvest, allowing the wonder-tales of Irish saints such as Brendan and Gobnait to shine in their own depth and simplicity. Paul Ó Colmáin’s varied and fluent wood engravings are marvellously complementary, adding fresh and sometimes surprising perspectives on the narrative. This is a beautiful book.’ Paddy Bushe also notes the connection to The Gospel of Gargoyle, highlighting the depth of Harpur's work.

The Gospel of Gargoyle by James Harpur, published by Eblana Press, features art by Paul Ó Colmáin. This captivating tale follows a poet residing at the Irish College in Paris, who experiences a series of dreams where he flies to the rooftop of Notre-Dame cathedral and meets a unique gargoyle. Unlike any ordinary gargoyle, this one can speak and claims to be a lost spirit seeking salvation through various incarnations. The Gargoyle and the Poet form an unlikely companionship, bound by a pact: for the poet's visits and deep conversations about life's great questions—discussions he hopes will liberate him from his stone imprisonment—the Gargoyle promises to reveal the answer to the poet's burning question: who or what caused the devastating fire at Notre-Dame in 2019? This limited edition book, available for €15 plus p&p, is beautifully bound with stitched signatures and is signed by both the author, James Harpur, and the artist.
